Join us for an afternoon of family friendly performances, workshops, games and community fun at the Gallions Park Picnic 2023!

Following the success of last year’s event, we are once again bringing you professional and community performances, interactive games, talks and workshops in the beautiful Thamesmead park.

This year’s exciting event is hosted by André Bright. The line-up includes:

Greenwich Dance’s performance company

13:30 Costa Rica in the UK
A beautiful display of Costa Rican culture. Get ready to join in!

14:00 Baaj Institute for Music and Fine Arts
Exquisite Nepalese dancing.

14:10 Utopia Cheer
Energetic cheerleading involving stunts, gymnastics and dance

14:20 Beeja Dance
Joyful Bollywood dance

14:30 Norvil & Josephine – Top Hat
A dazzling, comedy magic act performed on a giant top hat!

15:00 Kiduku Rhythms workshop
High energy Afrobeat fusion with cool Swahili vibes

15:30 Costa Rica in the UK

16:00 Dynamix Dance
Thamesmead’s exciting school of dance for young people

16:10 Royal Greenwich Music Service
A performance by the music education service for schools

16:30 TARU Arts
Brazilian drumming, mask making and a grand finale parade for all to take part in!

17:00 Norvil & Josephine – Top Hat

Plus games, ice cream, face painting, stalls from, Bethany’s Beautiful Beads, Amabel Illustrations, West Thamesmead Church, children’s craft activities from West Thamesmead Residents Association, a nature trail with TLC Offerings, The Camouflage Cafe, Brighter Futures, calligraphy and printing from MEET Hong Kong, FREE bike tagging by the Metropolitan Police (normally charged at £25), a bar run by The Green Goddess pub and a raffle!

The Gallions Park Picnic is part of Summer in the Park, a Greenwich Dance and Arts Trust Productions project which is supported by The National Lottery Community Fund, Royal Greenwich Festivals, Peabody and The Royal Parks.
